Group Cruises

8 rooms or 800, let us take care of your group. We secure low group rates and special amenities, and manage the booking from start to finish.

Planning the perfect group cruise

The easiest, most enjoyable way to travel together

Whether it is a family reunion, a church group, a corporate meeting, an incentive trip, a theme cruise or a full ship charter, a cruise is the simplest way to bring a group together. Everyone can dine together, meet in a quiet conference room, gather by the pool or share a show at night, all without repacking or coordinating separate hotels.

If you already have a cruise in mind and a group of 8 or more cabins, we can take it from here. Keep reading for how it works, or request a quote and a specialist will reach out.

Why group with CDV

The benefits of booking as a group

Lower group rates

Booked well in advance, group fares are often significantly lower than you would pay on your own.

A free cabin

Typically a 17th cabin free for every 16 you book. Most agencies keep that value; we pass it to you (taxes and fees aside).

Complimentary amenities

Choose from wine or champagne, chocolates, cocktail parties, shipboard and casino credits, spa services and private gatherings.

Choose your cabins

When you place your group deposits, you get to choose the location of your group cabins.

Dedicated cruise hosts

For larger groups we send our own hosts at no charge, dedicated to your group alone. We suggest one host per 75 guests.

Custom shore excursions

With a host aboard, we organize once in a lifetime excursions through our own infrastructure, far beyond the usual ship tours.

How it works

Planning your group cruise, step by step

It can be complicated, with many moving parts. That is where we come in. We take care of the complexity behind the scenes so you can focus on the people sailing with you.

  1. 01

    Define the purpose

A conference, a trade event, an incentive trip, a family gathering or a special interest group.

  2. 02

    Estimate the size

Roughly how many people and how many cabins you expect to need.

  3. 03

    Choose the destination and style

Caribbean, Alaska, Europe or Asia, and whether you picture an ocean ship, a river cruise or a luxury yacht.

  4. 04

    Decide on amenities

Meeting or convention space, private parties, restaurant buyouts or a reserved entertainment venue.

  5. 05

    Plan promotion and comps

How members will join, and how many cabins to comp (about one free for every 16 booked).

  6. 06

    Add dedicated hosts if needed

For larger groups, roughly one dedicated host per 75 guests for a level of service the ship cannot match.

  7. 07

Select the line, ship and dates

The earlier the better for availability and rates. We can help you compare and decide.

  8. 08

We block your space and handle the rest

Contracts, deposits, a booking website or room assignments, excursions, and any air and transfers.

800+

Group cruise FAQs

What is a group cruise?

Cruise lines usually define a group as a minimum of 8 double-occupancy cabins, though some lines allow a lower minimum.

What makes for a good group cruise?

Almost anything: family reunions, church groups, speaking and workshop events, company meetings, incentive trips, and even partial or full ship charters for conventions at sea or custom theme events.

Does a group cruise need a group leader?

It is best to have a single group leader to help promote the group, but they are never alone. We handle booking details, payments, documentation, meeting space and dining, give you one point of contact, build a group website where members can book and pay, provide a group itinerary in a smartphone app, and keep the leader updated throughout.

What else will CDV provide my group?

For groups large enough, we provide complimentary cruise hosts from our own team, and we help organize custom shore excursions that are genuine once in a lifetime experiences, arranged through our own infrastructure.

What benefits can I expect for my group?

Lower group rates when you plan ahead, a free cabin for roughly every 16 booked (which we pass to you), complimentary amenities such as wine, chocolates, cocktail parties and shipboard credits, and your choice of cabin location.

How complicated is planning a group cruise?

Honestly, very. There are many moving parts to stay on top of, but that is exactly where our experience comes in. Having organized over 800 groups, we manage the complexity for you.
