Virgin Voyages

Adults-only, all-in fares and a design-forward take on the modern cruise, with the fine print already handled.

The line

The cruise, reimagined for adults

Virgin Voyages is Richard Branson’s adults-only cruise line, built to feel less like a traditional ship and more like a boutique hotel at sea. It threw out a lot of cruise convention: no buffet, no formal nights, no kids, and a fare that folds in the extras other lines charge for.

Founded in 2014 as part of the Virgin Group and sailing since 2021, the line runs four near-identical ships it calls Ladies: Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady and Brilliant Lady, the newest, which joined in 2025. Each carries roughly 2,770 adult guests.

The signature is the all-in fare. Tips, wifi, still and sparkling water, group fitness classes, soda and non-pressed juices, and dining across more than twenty eateries are included, so the daily add-ons that shape a mainstream cruise mostly vanish.

In a word

Virgin Voyages rebuilt the cruise for adults, trading buffets and formal nights for tattoo studios, drag brunches and an all-in fare.

A design-forward cabin aboard a Virgin Voyages Lady ship

Four Lady ships, hotel-style at sea

The fleet is four near-identical ships, each carrying about 2,770 adults. Cabins skew boutique-hotel rather than cruise-cabin, with mood lighting, a convertible seabed and, in the sea terrace cabins, a red hammock on the balcony. The top RockStar Quarters add suite space and dedicated service.

Public spaces were designed by leading studios and feel deliberately unlike a traditional ship, from the run of bars and lounges to a working tattoo studio and a record shop. The look is dark, sleek and playful.

A lively themed restaurant aboard a Virgin Voyages ship

No buffet, no gimmicks, all-in

Virgin skips the buffet in favor of more than twenty restaurants and eateries, from a Mexican taqueria to a Korean barbecue and a fine-dining Italian, all included with no per-restaurant surcharge. Fare also covers tips, wifi, water, soda and group fitness.

What costs extra is deliberately limited: alcohol, the spa, and a few premium experiences. The result is a fare that is easy to understand up front, one of the things guests cite most about the line.

An evening entertainment venue on a Virgin Voyages ship

Nightlife, wellness and where they sail

Evenings run from dinner theater and drag brunches to late-night parties, while daytime leans hard into wellness, with an expansive fitness program, running track and Redemption Spa. The adults-only crowd keeps the energy sociable.

The ships sail the Caribbean from Miami and San Juan, the Mediterranean and Europe in summer, and have expanded to Australia and beyond. We help you match the right Lady, season and itinerary to the trip you have in mind.

Since so many Virgin Voyages voyages begin or end in Italy, they pair naturally with a culinary tour of Italy ashore.

Frequently asked questions

What is different about Virgin Voyages?

Virgin Voyages is an adults-only line with an all-in fare and a boutique-hotel feel. It drops much of the usual cruise formula, with no buffet, no formal nights and no children, and instead includes tips, wifi, most dining, water, soda and group fitness in the price. The style is design-led, sociable and playful.

Is Virgin Voyages adults-only?

Yes. Virgin Voyages is exclusively for adults, with a minimum age of eighteen aboard. That keeps the atmosphere grown-up and the programming, from late-night venues to wellness, geared entirely toward adults.

How many ships does Virgin Voyages have?

Virgin Voyages operates four near-identical ships, each named a Lady: Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady and Brilliant Lady, which joined the fleet in 2025. Each carries roughly 2,770 adult guests.

Is Virgin Voyages all-inclusive?

It is close to all-inclusive, but not entirely. The fare includes gratuities, wifi, still and sparkling water, soda, group fitness classes and dining across all of the ship’s restaurants. Alcohol, the spa and a handful of premium experiences cost extra, so it is best described as all-in on the essentials.

Who owns Virgin Voyages?

Virgin Voyages is part of Richard Branson’s Virgin Group. The company was founded in 2014 and welcomed its first guests in 2021, bringing the Virgin brand to cruising for the first time.

What is the average age on Virgin Voyages?

Because it is adults-only and design-led, Virgin Voyages tends to draw a younger crowd than most lines, with many guests in their thirties, forties and fifties. That said, it welcomes travelers of every age who want a lively, grown-up cruise.

What is the dress code on Virgin Voyages?

There is no formal night. The vibe is stylish but relaxed, so most guests wear smart, expressive resort clothing in the evening. You can dress up if you like, but nothing formal is required.

Is Virgin Voyages a luxury cruise line?

Virgin Voyages is a premium line rather than a traditional luxury one. It delivers a stylish, high-quality experience with strong design, good dining and an all-in fare, but it is built around a sociable, contemporary atmosphere rather than the formal service of an ultra-luxury ship.

How much does a Virgin Voyages cruise cost?

Fares vary by ship, cabin category, season and itinerary, and a RockStar suite is a very different figure to an interior cabin. Because tips, wifi and most dining are already included, the headline number is not directly comparable to a mainstream fare. Rather than quote a misleading range, we price your specific voyage and secure the best available CDV value. Request a complimentary quote and we will lay out the real numbers.
