The world’s first Discovery Yachts

Scenic built a category of its own with the Discovery Yacht: an ultra-luxury ship small enough to feel private, strong enough for the ice, and outfitted for genuine exploration. Two of them sail today, Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II, each carrying about 228 guests, or closer to 200 in the polar regions where space and comfort matter most.

The line is the ocean flagship of Scenic Group, the privately held company founded in 1986 by Australian businessman Glen Moroney. Everything is all-inclusive, from butler-served all-verandah suites to fine wines and a fleet of expedition toys, and the yachts carry two helicopters and a custom submarine to reveal a destination from the air and below the waterline.

Scenic is all-inclusive in the fullest sense. Fares fold in up to ten dining experiences across the ship, fine wines and spirits, butler service, gratuities and the use of Zodiacs, kayaks and e-bikes for getting out into the landscape.

The signature toys set Scenic apart. Each yacht carries two Airbus H130 helicopters and the Scenic Neptune submarine, which open up vantage points few ships can offer. Helicopter flights and submarine dives are booked separately, and we can explain how that works when we plan your voyage.
